Sail Fiordland National Parks largest Fjord on the Fiordland Navigator:

Real Journeys Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise Booking Form.

Doubtful Sound Over-Night Booking Form.

Beautiful Doubtful Sound:

Doubtful Sound located in a World Heritage Area, is an overwhelming place. You can feel the power of nature here - the remoteness, the wildness and the peace. Known for its wilderness and wildllife, Doubtful Sound is the second largest of the 14 fiords in Fjordland National Park and it is three times longer and 10 times larger than Milford Sound. Real Journeys offers daytime and overnight cruises at Doubtful Sound in the lower South Island.

Your Doubtful Sound adventure begins as you cruise the crystal clear waters of Lake Manapouri. Then it's over the Wilmot Pass, stopping along the way to experience some of Fiordland's densest rainforest and to view the colourful alpine moss gardens. On reaching Deep Cove, you will board Real Journeys "Fiordland Navigator" for the start of your over-night cruise experience.

When you discover Doubtful Sound you will be struck by its silence - a silence broken only by birdsong, or maybe the rushing of a distant waterfall.

Overnight Cruises:

There's plenty of time on your Doubtful Sound overnight cruises to enjoy the stunning views and to discover the hidden arms of Doubtful Sound. Seals and Dolphins are often seen and at times, Penguins can be observed. There is also time for you to kayak around the shoreline or go exploring in the tender craft with the nature guide. As evening approaches you'll drop anchor at a favourite mooring for the night. After the days activities, enjoy a delicious evening buffet meal in the spacious dining saloon.

The Fiordland Navigator is purpose built for cruising in the fjords. The vessel offers spacious viewing decks, a comfortable dining saloon/fully licensed bar and observation lounge. You have the choice of private cabins with ensuite bathrooms or shared bunk-style accommodation.

Waking up to the absolute silence of Doubtful Sound aboard an overnight cruise is a real treat - a once in a lifetime opportunity that should not be missed. Snow-capped mountains loom above a dramatic, ever-changing panorama of waterfalls and beech forest punctuated by birdsong.

The sheltered nature of the fiords means even the heartiest of land lovers amongst us can enjoy a good night's sleep on a sheltered mooring. The extra time taken on an overnight voyage also allows plenty of time to experience the fjord in all lights, and to soak up its peaceful atmosphere.
