High Country Horses of Glenorchy offers horseriding in small personal groups amongst spectacular scenery at the Head of Lake Wakatipu.
Take advantage of the opportunity to experience New Zealand's High Country at close quarters with High Country Horses of Rees Valley, Glenorchy. Ride across a high country station and neighbouring river flats beneath snow-capped peaks. Let your horse carry you into the hills and experience fantastic views across the river valley, or simply enjoy the valley floor with its abundant birdlife and sparkling snow-fed river channels.
One hour, two hour and full day guided rides are available. Enjoy their friendly, personal approach to trekking and the seasonably variable trails in the Glenorchy area. Small groups ensure the safety and enjoyment of all riders, and our spectacular mountain environment can be viewed at close quarters from horseback.
Just 45 minutes drive from Queenstown, High Country Horses is worlds away from the clamour of the resort town of Queenstown. Safety helmets and raincoats are supplied and transport can be arranged from your Queenstown accommodation if you require it - just ask for help with getting to Glenorchy when making your booking. It is best to wear long trousers and good sturdy shoes or boots (toes enclosed) and advise your riding experience level when booking.
