RDTours™ is a tour company that specializes in taking small groups, couples or families, to unique, rural and coastal sights in the Queenstown area and the South Island.

Charles Fraser, RD Tours director, has extensive knowledge of regional agriculture, history and culture. Having been involved in farming he has an in depth understanding of the issues relating to production, environmental care and sustainability for the future generations.

High Country Discovery Tour:
Come away from the crowds and immerse yourself on a 4WD experience like no other. Rural Discovery Tours has exclusive access to Mount Earnslaw Station, the best kept secret in the Glenorchy area. The High Country Discovery Tour takes you on a half - day rural discovery of Mount Earnslaw Station, in the heart of New Zealand's high country. Reaching an altitude of 1300 feet you will be captivated by the majestic views, the bush walk through massive schist out crops leading to an amphitheatre that peers into the valley below. Beneath you livestock appear sprinkled over organic pastures beside a lake sparkling like diamonds.
Skippers Canyon Tour:
Take the narrow road through the rugged historic landscape of Skippers Canyon, a road carved from rock cliffs and terraces. The Shotover River was one of the richest gold bearing rivers in the world, now only gold mining relics remain to tell the stories of hardship experienced in this unique environment. Visit the Mount Aurum homestead and restored Skippers school. Step back into a bygone era as you view historic buildings, hear the amazing stories, feel and appreciate the encounters of men driven by riches.
Skippers Canyon Heritage Tour:
Start the day with a later hotel pick up and visit Skippers Canyon avoiding the half day tour rush. We make time to take walks, marvel at the past gold mining stories and appreciate the Shotover Canyon scenes and then sit back to enjoy a private picnic lunch at Macleans Reserve.
