You can choose from Rippled Earth Kayaking's two adventures on Lake Wakatipu near Queenstown.
Glenorchy Islands Safari:
The island's on Lake Wakatipu have played a significant part in this area's diverse history. They are now an important natural reserve surrounded by the breathtaking mountainous backdrop of the Southern Alps.
Paddle to the Glenorchy Islands. This safari launches from either Little Stony Creek or Lake Face Creek near Glenorchy. The short paddle in the Kayaks across the lake will take you to a secluded beach on either Pig or Pigeon Island. From here you will be guided through the natural New Zealand beech forest. Giving you an opportunity to observe the thriving native bird life and vegetation unique to these island's.
Once you have had a chance to explore, you can relax and enjoy our refreshments on the beach before kayaking back to the mainland.

Kayak and Dinner on Sunset:
At the head of Lake Wakatipu you will find the small township of Glenorchy and Kinloch between the Humboldt and Richardson Mountain ranges and separated by Lake Wakatipu. Twilight dinner at Kinloch Lodge. Earn your dinner with a short, quiet paddle from Glenorchy, across Lake Wakatipu to the historic Kinloch Lodge. Your guide will take you past the Rees and Dart River confluences, overlooked by Mount Earnslaw. A traditional dinner will be served with views of snowcapped mountains and the lake shore, before kayaking back on twilight. One of the best Kayaking adventures.
